hey, i checked out the winners. a shift in perfection seems like a very worthy winner from what i've seen of it. where can i see the other winning films though? they are all completely new to me, which is promising since so many of the films in the program were the usual suspects, known from here, ...

The disc menu itself does have some errors in the NTSC version but does not prevent you from checking out all the films. The errors are more design quirks than usage-critical errors. We did our best with the disc and I am proud of the result, considering the very low budget and fast turnaround. Mos...

Re: My Super-8 Cities experience

After waiting two weeks for Super-8 Cities [checking the post box everyday for the last few days] it arrived. Imagine the disappointment to open the case to find the disc had slid around inside, scratched useless. Disappointment turned to fury to see the case hub was at least 2 mm. smaller that the...

I think this is a very cool project. However, the website has a pop up that wants you to participate in a survey and doesn't really give you the option to say no. It eventually closes by itself but if someone is in a hurry they might think there is no way around the pop up and just abandon the effo...

My website functions as it is supposed to, attracts clients like it is supposed to, creates the first impression that I want it to create, stimulates sales of about $1 million a year and allows me to feed my family and keep a crew of 6 constantly employed at a decent salary. I guess you would be a ...

That you would think a website this size and complexity could be made from scratch by a professional web designer for a "couple of hundred bucks" reveals just how little you really know about the realities of web design. Er, actually, back in the day I used to work as a professional web d...

I disagree. It is incredibly simple and functional and far easier to read and navigate than most sites, including your own, which I find hard to read in places, busy and cluttered, with questionable navigation. The look I am trying to stay away from -and one that has lent itself to the success of m...

I think you should spend a couple of hundred bucks and get a decent webdesigner to do you a professional looking site from scratch. Actually, I get compliments about my site all the time from users that, like me, hate bloated, flashy websites that have pointless animations and special download requ...

For two hundreds bucks I'd even have a stab at it!

I imagine broadcast quality peer to peer will be common place 2 years from now. The crux is working creative new marketing angles.... IMO it is just over optimistic speculation to imagine that P2P will become a distribution possibility in the future. The norm is that people do not want to pay for c...

Become Citizen Super-8 on Facebook!

I have setup a Citizen Super-8 group on Facebook. 20 members and growing: an excellent way to keep track of this project which includes talent such as the AD of the Last King of Scotland, Gavin Lim, Sean Martin, Dan Monceaux and lots of others with less credits to their name. The Facebook software i...
