Mini DV is MUCH more forgiving. in the time and money you spend on a Super 8 film, you could have 4 mini-DV ones done. Mini-dv is definately much more forgiving. You can buy 8mm videotapes pretty much anywhere, this means CVS/Walgreens/Walmart/Brooks/Best Buy and any other type of mart/druggstore/department and or electronic store. Check a library they'll have stuff about video.
