Ya possibly but I worried none and got back my film all blank. Then again it was older than 2 years. Find a cheap, fast place to process and just test to see if its alright.

Mini DV is MUCH more forgiving. in the time and money you spend on a Super 8 film, you could have 4 mini-DV ones done. Mini-dv is definately much more forgiving. My film came back from the lab today all blank. Whatever, just get film stock from a reliable place and kinda of makes you appreciate whe...

oh ya for cheap cameras try flea markets and order a few film carts, use a slide to experiment and stay away from anything that uses a battery that is commonly used for hearing aids, this particular battery is a px13 which isn't made anymore because it has mercury in it. You can use and try other ba...

I was in a similar situation as yourself, only a lil older and in film school. When you first go and talk with everyone that is supposedly big in film they have their 3 chip cameras and won't even allow you're one chip mini dv near anything. It's ass but think about it this way, they pay $2k-$3k for...

You can buy 8mm videotapes pretty much anywhere, this means CVS/Walgreens/Walmart/Brooks/Best Buy and any other type of mart/druggstore/department and or electronic store. Check a library they'll have stuff about video.

I guess what I meant by National Geographic is that videographer has a more exotic sounding name, possibly because it hasn't been fully introduced and accepted into our society such as a cinematographer and photographer.

What aggravates me the most is that someone that I know that is also deals with video lumps all of his videos under "filmography" on his website. He's also a self proclaimed genius yet can't tell the difference between film and video! Videographer definately sounds like tv news or National...

Basically the filter balances out teh color, so if you use the lamp one for inside you'll get more of a blueish tone and the opposite if you use it inside. You could use this effect for cinematic reasons you know to make it seem warmer or colder. Just run tests and use a slate board before telling y...

Ya I agree it looks beautiful despite trashed but the framing is really poor in some shots. I first watched the video then looked at the comments and I can see what you mean about just filming at the venue so you guys pretty much had to do a standard fare but it is sometimes better to be an awesome ...
