Re: E64T - First impressions

I can't think of anything else than the superior quality of K40 - it didn't really matter what kind of camera you had, my most beautiful shots ever were taken with a Sankyo pocket camera in a canooing trip in Finland. E64T has killed my dear hobby!

Interesting. How is the image quality of Velvia50D? Is the film grain smaller, or larger then K40? What about color and exposure latitude?

I’m interested in buying a large roll of Velvia50D (and K40). I have a Kaccema reloadable film cartridge . But how do I send the exposed film to the lab ...

Is that the Sam Raimi produced one? If so, it was made in the late 80s. I read about it somewhere and have been wanting to see it for a while now. Thanks for reminding me!

The Super 8 short film Sam Raimi made was called “WITHIN THE WOODS” made in 1978. Here is some information on it ...

That’s great to hear. I personally love EXR 50D and was pretty choked when I heard Kodak is planning to discontinue it. But when I heard they were actually planning to replace it with a new Vision2 50D stock, I have to admit I was pretty excited about it. I am very impressed with the Vision2 ...

Re: What do you like most about k40

Just for my own edification I'm trying to work out what people are going to miss so much - I think these are the reasons - please add any suggestions if there's something else

Scot

All those reasons are why I love K40. But if I have to choose one it would be “Small grain size”. I ...

Wow, that this a great buy! I got one for $64. Worth every penny, it’s a kick ass camera! Out of all the super 8 cameras I have this one is my favorite. I even widened the gate on it for wide screen format. Definitely is a good buy.

Re: Canadians: Postal strangeness with K-40 prepaid mailers

I am curious where you were planning to send them in Toronto, as there is no one here I am aware of who would touch it. I always take Kodachrome to Shopper's Drug Mart and they have never had any questions and nothing has ever gone missing. I have also never used any envelopes as the cart label ...

FSFT has a great thing going with HD however--Who here is putting their S8 on HD?? If youu are then you should be looking at shooting S16 or 35.

Well, I do. :? That’s a strange comment. I want to get the most out of my super 8 film. I think their prices are reasonable for the high quality ...

The best place for super 8 transfer in my opinion is Flying spot film transfer. Have look at their super8 demo. They also just put a new super 8 clip on their site. Amazing! :D

I have yet to see another super 8 film stock available from Kodak (reversal or negative) that can beat K-40’s sharpness and color.
k40 is the least sharp stock there is, so that doesn't make sense. of course it looks really sharp because it's low grain and very contrasty, but let's not ...

I can’t believe what I’m reading here, that some people actually want K-40 discontinued? I have yet to see another super 8 film stock available from Kodak (reversal or negative) that can beat K-40’s sharpness and color. From what I have seen and experimented with, K-40 is the ...

Can someone explain to me why they even use Pro8mm?

They have such a bad reputation I’m surprised their still in business. Yet people still use them and then complain about the poor service, high prices and sloppy work they do. I haven’t heard or seen anything good from them. So why ...
