Re: Universal now offering 2K and Audio modules!
This new upgrade is free to all Universal software owners that already have the RetroScan Universal software. The new upgrade will work with both the original HD camera as well as the new 2K camera.
Thanks Roger. Very welcome news on the software. Been waiting for that software upgrade.

So even though the light is more than 3 times brighter to the camera, it is far less bright to the user. More importantly, the brighter light source is a big benefit to the users with the stock HD camera already on the Universal because it reduces camera gain and associated noise levels. Colors are ...

Re: Identifying 16mm sound (6 track optical???)
You could try AEO-Light software to digitize the optical track. I've had success doing this with two channels.

RetroScan Universal 16mm Optical Trck Tests
I used my RetroScan Universal plus the AEO-Light software recommended by Roger to transfer a 45 year old 16mm release print.
I downloaded the AEO-Light software from Roger's website and then followed Roger's well written instructions and those of the AEO-Light people.

Re: Retro-Universal 16mm Sample
I posted new samples from my RetroScan Universal -- 16mm, Reg and Super 8mm. Very happy with the machine so far. THe Neat Video Denoise does help.
It was an interesting adventure to capture and sync up the sound on the 16mm release prints.
