A bit late to help you but it may be of help to someone else one day. I also use a hearing aid battery 1.4 volt with a very small rubber belt to hold it central. Hi. We used some 20 odd year old out dated OCh-45 super 8 for a flashback sequence in a colour film and it worked very well, but it does rather depend on the effect you are looking for.

Its really wonderful to see Ektachrome on sale again although I guess I was one of the lucky people who had a big enough stock of it to keep me going as did others. Ordered some of the new batch and will look forward to giving it a twirl shortly. ;)
