have a look in the camera picture gallery for my old 2008 with the 80-200 on it. Yes, thanks! :) But I was wondering also about its usage in larger formats as well. For instance, I just spotted this on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4691&item=3855126238&rd=...

Nikon lens on film cameras?

Hello, I have a quick question, this may be asking the obvious but are there general warnings against using Nikon (or just 35mm still) lenses on film cameras? I read up the archives and I understand that 35mm lenses become telephotos on 8mm cams. (Hence, generally not advisable.) However, I seem to ...

special ballasts that reduce the flicker of ordinary flurorescents and I assume the color temperature is different, and they cost a heck of a lot more than just buying a fluroscent tube and shroud from the store. I think that's the gist of the idea. Kinoflos use high end ballasts with dimmer capabi...

Maybe I should start a new thread about this? But has anyone tried mating flourescents to K40? I am currently at a crossroad because I have been researching a lot of studio lighting packages on bhphoto for work. However, I can't seem to find any good literature or primer on flourescents? I ha...

I went to the screenings today and since no one seems to have posted a review yet. Here's my audience's list of awards: BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY & EDITING: "Rendezvous" (4:00, 16mm) - Per Sveinung Larsen (A very very creative dance! My girlfriend can't stop asking about the tech. elements a...

Congratulations!! I am 22 and I am only modestly starting out. So, definitely be glad you got a better head start than most other youth out there. :) Now, I am trying to brainwash you. So, listen very carefully and remember - "CAMERA = GUNS." BE VERY VERY VERY CAREFUL why you use it, how y...

bossing the crew in order to camouflage weakness and insecurity will make things worse, do not try this. Best is: be prepared. Be very prepared. Mattias, you have a very valid point and I absolutely agree, sometimes a deceptive rhetoric can be an extrmely powerful aid. However, Jean's passage here ...

I would advice against it.. The thing with reading advices on here (or the internet in general) is there are ten million products out there and everyone digs a different cup of tea. I always keep a bottle handy because they remove tape residue perfectly and are great firestarters. :D However, I can'...

i agree with everything you say, but i must make a small comment over this one. if being honest would expose that you don't know what you're doing, which you won't at some point, don't be honest. tell everyone you're in full control, smile, and deal with the problem yourself or with the head of the...

However, being weak and wishy-washy as a director will make people feel like they are wasting their time, even if they are only on the set for 15 minutes. I second Mattias and Roger too. However, here's a counter-point to the dickhead "I know what I am doing" director argument. :P I once ...

I am learning myself but here's my advice if you are already stuck in the middle of the shoot. Sorry if the following sounds brutal. BE HONEST. BE RESPONSIBLE. TAKE CARE AND BE READY TO DIE FOR THESE PEOPLE WHO ARE HELPING YOU. (Repeat the above 3 times and memorize it!!) Now, don't forget that cake...

I have to confess that I liked eyes wide shut! lol! :) I would love to see the passion of joan of arc. Be sure to check out the criterion DVD commentary behind Dryer's Passion as well. It's a great film but if I remember correctly, there's some very alarming implications about films that become &qu...
