Re: Lomo Still Film Scanner
I'm using Vegas 10... There is an invert feature, but it seems to be designed for making a positive image into a negative one as an effect. When I invert a negative frame, it's still very blue and very very flat... no density at all. The software doesn't matter, only the operatinal procedures. Once...

Re: Lomo Still Film Scanner
. It doesn't look all that great, but calls to my attention that there is an i-phone app now that can invert negative film and no NLE plug-in that does. Using the current basic NLE invert plug-in doesn't compensate for the orange mask and requires a lot of careful tweaking to almost get it right so...

The possible RETURN of KODAK EXR, KODAKCHROME and other film
This is a repost from another forum: I just attended (last night) a SMPTE meeting of the Hollywood Chapter. The subject was "The Technology and History of Film, presented by Beverly Pasterczyk of Eastman Kodak Co." Ms. Pasterczyk is a chemist with film R & D at Kodak, and she mentioned...

Re: Is the end near?
NEVER.....SAY....DIE!!!!!!!!!!! Really dude, the best you can do is to buy film by the case each time you get some. Shoot as much as you can afford and turn young people onto shooting film. Recently, I sold a Nikon Super Zoom 8 to a 13 year old kid. He had the "Eye of the Tiger" look in hi...

Re: Corporate Video
Get your hands on a KRASNOGORSK K-3 or Canon SCOOPIC 16mm camera and shoot the wide shots on the 16mm camera. Vision2 200T Super 8mm will hold up fine for the medium and close up shots. It looks especially nice in closeups lit with KINO FLO tungsten flourescents. Send me your email address and I'll ...

Re: Looking for a filterkit (beginers/basic)
COKIN "P" series filter are "4x"4". They have good neutel density filters as well as color correction filters. I would recommend an 85B, 81A, 81B, 81C, 81D 81EF, 80A,80B,80C and polarizers. If you are feeling adventurous try COKIN's "VARICOLOR" filters. Phillipe Ro...

Re: Organic Film Effect
You can get that reddish - yellow fogging on the frame by shining a flashlight down the viewfinder while filming the scene. To get the scratches once the film is processed, drag it across a concrete floor. You can do that with the original (if you don't care) or make a copy of the neg/print ( there ...

Canon Scoopic M/MS Crystal Control Modification http://www.webtfg.com/sync10.htm The crystal sync conversion is completely internal to the camera. A sync indicator LED is installed at the rear of the camera to the right of the eyepiece. A toggle switch to activate crystal control is located on the ...

Re: UK 64T & Vision2 prices go up on 1st Nov
I call KODAK Los Angeles and NYC, and they knew nothing of a U.S. price increase. Perhaps it's UK only. KODAK IS having a good year, though. Check this repost from another forum about a BBC new article. : Reading a rundown on the BBC News site about the impact of the recession, here's something that...

Re: Camera Torque with 64T, Tri-X, and Negative...
Adam, I'm glad you brought this up. I have a few NIKONs that shoot steady footage, no matter what films I use. Yet, I had a Minolta that would get jitters with reversal. PRO8MM adjusts the torque on the cameras that they sell/rent. Does anyone know of a mad scientist dude that can make those adujstm...

Re: Fujichrome filters?
Try a testing with an 81A or 81B filter. A Tiffen LLD filter may work
even better because it requires no exposure compensation. These filters
remove the bluish cast you speak of.

Call them. They speak English. If you have any Single 8 Velvia or ASTIA film, send it to SPECTRA in l.A. or DWAYNE'S in KANSAS.
