Just for the record, I'm in, too. I've got a short I finished last year to submit and possibly another soon. This is a great idea.

Good to hear you're into doing this. The features that are currently unavailable in combination that I would like are: Long intervals - 24 hours is the largest I can currently imagine using. Uneven intervals - Being able to shoot a long time lapse just during the day so you don't have to take out th...

I checked out the thread from last year about intervalometers and I'm excited to see that there are some low-cost options for long term time lapses. The confusing part to me is how to connect the intervalometer to my camera. I've never been able to find any info (probably haven't searched long enoug...

long time lapse
Thanks for the responses. I don't know why I've been stuck on shooting only a frame or two a day. I guess if I'm going to this much trouble to shoot this, then it's not that big of a deal to spend some editing time on the end. Unfortunately I only constructed a door on the back of the box (for viewi...

long time lapse
Has anyone shot a really long time lapse? I'm shooting one of my garden for the next five months or so. I've built a box to protect the camera from the elements and put a door on the front (which is glass) to keep out most of the light when I'm not shooting and I'm wondering if it's worth exposing a...

What are the shutter speeds?
That's cool to know. I've often wondered about this, but never thought to listen for the different shutter speeds. Do you know what the different speeds are?

Long time lapse on Nizo
Does anyone know what the two holes next to the manual screw-in shutter release hole on a Nizo 4056 are for? I'm hoping that one is a shutter release that works by electronic pulse. Is this true? I found some directions to build an intervalometer that sends electronic pulses at variable intervals an...

mode based?
Thanks for the responses. I have to admit that I'm leaning towards Final Cut Pro. I will probably skip Imovie and try both Premiere and FCP and see which I like better. Two more questions: 1. What does "mode based" mean? 2. Any broad estimates for how much time I'll be spending editing (ou...

I'm about to start editing the short I've been shooting on S8 for the last few months. I'll be working at a community media center (no $$ left for my own equipment) and they have Imovie, Premiere, and Final Cut Pro. I haven't worked with any of these, and I would appreciate suggestions on which one ...

I just used some 200T for an outdoor scene at night and it was very grainy. Annoyingly so. Maybe it was exposed incorrectly or something, but it looked how I wanted it to, except for the grain. I tested some 500T against the 200T a few weeks ago and it seemed noticeably more grainy than 500T. I'll e...

Super8 features
Someone mentioned a Super8 feature on the Resolution thread, so I thought I'd throw this out there: What feature-length movies have been shot entirely on Super8 and distributed to theaters on 35mm? I'm pretty sure that "Shaft" was made on Super8, but I can't think of any others right off. ...

I've got a 4056 and I have sound problems (using a boom-mounted mic) when I get within about 6 feet of the mic. A towel draped over the camera helps a little. The sound is more of a problem at the beginning of a roll than at the end for some reason. Can anyone explain this?

It will be a bit slower. Surreal, however, is in the eye of the beholder.
